What is Bacteriostatic Water Used for?

Bacteriostatic water for injection is just for Research use and must combine with peptides that require dilution or dissolving. Once the vial is open, it should be thrown out after 30 days.

Bacteriostatic Water is supplied in a multiple-dose container from which repeated withdrawals may be made to dilute or dissolve peptides or proteins. USP is designated H2O; the pH is 5.7 (4.5 to 7.0).

The semi-rigid vial container is fabricated from a specially formulated polyolefin. It is a copolymer of ethylene and propylene. The safety of the plastic has been confirmed by tests in animals- according to USP biological standards for plastic containers.

On the other hand, Sterile Water for Injection is single-dose sterile water that does not contain any bacteriostatic, antimicrobial agents or added buffers.

Additionally, Bacteriostatic Sodium Chloride further differs from the previous two as this preparation features the addition of 9 mg of sodium chloride (NaCl) per milliliter, along with added bacteriostatic preservative.
